MEET OUR TEAM
ABIGAIL FLETCHER, LM
Abigail graduated from the International School of Midwifery in 2009, and has been practicing here in Gainesville since then. Abigail has been honored to attend hundreds of births including the births of both of their beloved nieces! Abigail is passionate about Birth Justice, and strives to make midwifery care accessible to all who desire it.
D. LYNNE SALZBURG, LM
A 1986 graduate of The North Florida School of Midwifery, Lynne attended home births in Gainesville and the surrounding areas for 6 years, and then spent 12 years as a Midwife at The Birth Center of Gainesville. A change in ownership of the Center brought her back to her “first love” – helping families birth at home! Mother of four home-born children (now grown), she is happily spoiling grandchildren. Lynne is also a HypnoBirthing® instructor offering a 5-series class at our location.
JESSICA STEVENSON, LM
Jessica was born at home and it was hearing her parents’ tender account of their experience with midwives while growing up that led her to pursue midwifery. She received her midwifery degree from the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in 2003. As a student, Jessica was able to intern in a maternity clinic in Cartagena, Colombia which provided her with both high-risk experience and a stronger understanding of birth cross-culturally. After 9 years of practicing as a midwife, Jessica gave birth to her son at home in 2012. With a deep commitment to midwifery, she is inspired to give women and families the birth experience they desire. Jessica also teaches the core midwifery courses at the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery
